The Midnight Peacock: This painting captures a deeply personal moment, reflecting the warmth and guidance of a man who became a pivotal figure during a time of uncertainty. In real life, some of my fondest memories with him unfolded on his dimly lit porch, where a circle of lawn chairs always seemed to be waiting. Late into the night, we’d sit with a small group, boxed wine in hand, sharing stories and diving into animated conversations. Those evenings, filled with laughter and heartfelt exchanges, created an atmosphere of camaraderie and comfort that still stays with me.
