This painting, a collaboration between Jaiye and me, marks the beginning of my most recent series and a transformative journey. We started it together, and I worked on it for months before he returned to help complete it. Along the way, I grappled with self-doubt, fearing the piece—and the project—might fail, reflecting my insecurities about my place in the art world. But as the painting evolved, so did my perspective. Its emerging beauty mirrored a renewed confidence in my work and myself. I’m grateful for the time it took and the lessons it taught me about perseverance, collaboration, and growth.
